UK - Analogue TV Switchover
Analogue to Digital TV Switchover
In September 2005 the UK Government committed to switch over from analogue to only digital television in the Digital Switchover will occur, region by region, between 2008 and 2012.
This mean that UK analogue television will be switched region-by-region to Digital TV only, between 2008 - 2012.
Any TV with analogue reception only, will not work in UK without Digital set-top box where Switchover is done. Some UK county is now out from analogue TV reception and is covered by digital signal only.
Analogue and Digital TV in Europe:
There remaining some countries where is still available analogue TV signal (Slovakia to end of 2012, Hungary-plan change to 2015 year, UK some county within 2011 - 2012). Most EU countries are now fully covered by digital and old analogue TV signal has been switched off. (Germany, Czech Republic, Netherlands and other. Why is it being done?
Digital TV works better. The picture is clear, more channels and not dodgy reception as in past.

Car Digital Set top box:
On market is available a range of Digital TV boxes for cars in price range from £ 50.00 to £ 150.00. In Carinav Multimedia shop you may check and order Car Digital TV box available if you need.
Difference in prices:
Some models works in vehicles only when not move, some is designed for low speed and some models are not limited by speed of vehicles (for example have speed limit 250 km/h). Can have extra function as MP3, MP4 Player, game Player function, USB and SD card-slot.
Receiving DVB-T TV Car Antenna:
Often is supplied within box as accessory. Digital set-top box antennas have a different technical parameters and previous analogue may be need to be replaced for Digital Antenna. Car box are connected with displaying unit by AV Cable and have independent control from displaying unit.
